Hot Chip announce new album A Long Way From Kansas

Hot Chip have announced a new album called A Long Way From Kansas. It is set to come out on January 8. Along with the announcement, they shared a new track called “Random Violence.”

The song is a tribute to the late Optimo DJ JD Twitch, also known as Keith McIvor. Joe Goddard said the song was inspired by McIvor’s life, his love of music, and memories of the band’s time at Sub Club in Glasgow.

A Long Way From Kansas is Hot Chip’s follow-up to 2022’s Freakout/Release. It also marks the first time Felix Martin sings on a Hot Chip record. The album features guest appearances from Beth Ditto and Eddie Chacon.

The band has stayed busy since their last album, including a 2025 reissue of their greatest-hits set Joy In Repetition, an appearance on the second season of Netflix’s Beef, and the 20th anniversary of The Warning.
